Everything around attachable brushes

How long can I use a toothbrush?

For the daily oral hygiene we not only need a good toothbrush, but also one in good condition. Dentists recommend changing a toothbrush at least every 3 months for optimal cleaning. That is four toothbrushes per year!

We have three good reasons for you to change your toothbrush or brush-head regularly

1. Worn out brushes bring more harm than good

When manufacturing toothbrush heads, the nylon bristles are first all cut to the same height, resulting in sharp and jagged edges. Since this will not help oral hygiene, the end of each bristle is rounded to a soft tip. Less rough and jagged edges ensure that enamel and gums are not damaged.
But the longer you use your manual toothbrush or the attachment head of your electric toothbrush, the more the bristles return to their original, jagged state. Gum loss and abrasion of the enamel can be the result. What you need to know about enamel shrinkage in detail, we also explain.

2. Unpleasant germs spread

This time frame also makes sense for hygienic reasons. Even if it seems obvious, one does not always think about it: The bathroom is a breeding ground for bacteria! In order to prevent too many bacteria from cavorting in your brush, which can have a negative effect on your oral health and general well-being, you should not store your attachable brush near the toilet. When flushing with the toilet cover open, a large number of bacteria are spread around the room; no one wants to have them in their brush head and certainly not in their mouth! So: Don't store your toothbrush too close to the toilet, close the toilet lid when flushing and change the attachable heads at regular intervals.
In general, the following also applies: After brushing, rinse toothbrushes well under warm water and dry them off, preferably store them vertically and do not bring them into contact with other brushes. To make the storage of your happybrushes easier, we have developed the

3. Worn-off bristles do not clean as well

Last but not least: An old dental brush does not clean your teeth as well as it used to! Even high-quality bristles wear out permanently and can cause cavities and other harmful side effects. The split bristles bend away from the teeth while brushing; plaque and caries get a chance. Furthermore, the bristles will not find their way into your interdental spaces, where they are so urgently needed!
Regardless of the usage time, the following applies: If the bristles are very worn, e.g. due to very high pressure during brushing, the brush head should be replaced earlier.
